The movie house opened up the end of this summer and shows independent films. Since I have a restrictive diet of low-salt and non-processed natural foods, I was pleased to see they offer Third Street Bakery cookies and unsalted cashews as well as traditional popcorn and candy. You may also enjoy an adult beverage.

The Black Bear Casino is between 15 and 22 miles from Duluth depending on which part of Duluth you measure from. (Duluth is 22 miles long) The Black Bear Casino is near Cloquet and Carlton and owned by the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. The casino has a gift shop named Sweet Grass.

Here is part of what John H. Weeks III says on his blog: As the development was in progress, the city ended up with a lot of pedestrian traffic in Canal Park, and a lot of pedestrian traffic by the DECC, but no way for people to easily move between the two locations. For example, if a show let out at the DECC, people would naturally want to head over to the Canal Park area for dinner and to stroll along the boardwalk. But this was all but impossible due to the Minnesota Slip boat channel blocking access between the two sites. While the slip is only 150 feet wide, its 1,000 foot length makes for nearly a half-mile walk. Continue to read more here.
