I took this photo because I was impressed with the height of the evergreen tree. This is a brick mansion which actually faces 17th Avenue East. This is a side view taken from Superior Street. This photo was taken at 8 in the morning. It was a beautiful day. A little cool, but nice.

I know this is supposed to be a blog about events which happened each day, but with two events happening on Saturday I just couldn't see neglecting either one. I think it is significant that a small northern city has a Juneteenth celebration.
Green Duluth is sponsored by the City of Duluth Youth Employment Service and Community Action Duluth and provides green jobs for low-income youth ages 18–24.
- Duluth Youth Employment Service (Y.E.S. Duluth) has offered individualized employment programs to Duluth’s youth since 1986.
- Community Action Duluth’s mission is to use innovative strategies that mobilize low-income people and the broader community to build assets that prevent poverty, create equality, and strengthen our social fabric.
- The fieldworkers at Green Duluth are employed and paid by Duluth Youth Employment Service
- Community Action Duluth is a Worksite for Y.E.S. Duluth.
- Both Y.E.S. Duluth and Community Action Duluth’s capacity to financially support the Green Duluth project is due directly to Federal Stimulus funds.
